Crankshaft Deflection Indicator
Most engineers know the importance of regularly
checking the linear deflection of the crankshaft on
large diesels. The usage of an indicator (dial gauge)
Is time consuming, unpleasant, dirty and yielded
questionable measurement results. As a consequence,
these checks were made less and less frequently,
which increased the risk of an engine breakdown.
